2. N.G.S. 1 Bar Navarino. James Telfer. Recipient served as A.B. on HMS “Albion”.
The “Albion” took a very active part in the Battle of Navarino, being boarded by the enemy and repulsing them,
and being responsible for the destruction of a 74 gun ship, two 64 gun frigates and an 18 gun brig. In spite of this,
HMS “Albion” suffered the least casualties among the three main ships of the British Fleet, namely 10 killed and
